Matron of Honor: Erica Ketcham – Sister of the Bride. Erica and Christy are best friends, despite Erica living several hours away in Indianapolis. The two grew up together in Port Clinton, spending every summer on Put-in-Bay.
Maid of Honor: Jill Turner – Put-in-Bay Friend of Bride and Groom . Jill and Christy have been best friends for more than 25 years! They met in swimming and sailing classes during the summer on Put-in-Bay. Their friendship and travels have taken them as far away as Peru!
Crystal Bykowski – Sister of the Groom. Ben’s sister Crystal has become a close friend of Christy, as the two enjoy a growing bond. With so many friends in common, it’s a surprise the two didn’t become friends years ago!
Kara Bobowski – Notre Dame Friend of the Bride. Kara is Christy’s freshman roommate from ND. The two were randomly placed together and become fast friends. They lived together all four years at ND – and then again for awhile after graduate school in Chicago!
Kathy O’ Toole– Notre Dame Friend of the Bride. “Krazy Kathy” was the unofficial third roommate freshman year at ND, but went on to live with Christy and Kara for the remaining three years at ND. Kathy lived in Chicago, and was a big part of Christy’s social circle there!
Sary Klinges – Notre Dame Friend of the Bride. Although she didn’t live with them, you can’t talk about Christy, Kara and Kathy’s years at ND without mentioning Sary. She was there for every story! And the four of them continue to remain close.
Kim Stoiber - Put-in-Bay Friend of Bride and Groom. We’re not sure who knew Kim first – Ben or Christy – but both of them grew up with Kim on Put-in-Bay. Kim moved to Chicago several years ago and continued to build her friendships with them. Kim, and her boyfriend Adam, enjoy skiing with Ben and Christy in Keystone, Colorado, every year!
Judy Rader – Chicago Friend of the Bride. Judy is Christy's friend from graduate school at Northwestern, and has been a mainstay in the “Chicago Family” – a close circle of city girls. Judy and Christy have enjoyed adventures from Spain to Florida together!
Debbie Rosenberg – Chicago Friend of the Bride. Debbie is another sister in the “Chicago Family”, who has since moved to Boston. But, that doesn’t keep her away. If she looks familiar to some of you, it’s because she worked the Candy Bar table of chocolates at the Put-in-Bay Wine Festival last Fall, and was back for Oktoberfest the following weekend!
Melissa Trumbull – Chicago Friend of the Bride. Melissa is another sister in the “Chicago Family.” Christy actually stayed with Melissa for awhile when she was trying to decide about her move back to Ohio. Melissa will probably be the first one on the dance floor at the reception – she’s got moves!
Flower Girl: Ellie Ketcham – Niece of the Bride. Three-year old Ellie is Christy’s favorite (and only) niece! She has quickly become the center of attention in the Frederick family!
Best Man: Eric Mansell - Put-in-Bay Friend of Bride and Groom. Ben and Eric have been best friends for more than 15 years! They met over their summers on Put-in-Bay, and worked together at the Skyway and Erie Isle. Through their friendship they’ve enjoyed many years of wake-boarding, sailing and snow-boarding.
Mike Deye – Toledo Sailing Friend of the Groom. Ben has been sailing on Mike’s boat, the Menace (a Hobie 33), for the last six years. Together they share a number of memories from past regattas like the Mills Race, Fall Bay, as well as Snow Flurries, and have even sailed together as far away as St. Petersburg, Florida!
Aaron Stange – Toledo Sailing Friend of the Groom. Aaron and Ben have been friends for almost 13 years. We have Aaron to thank for helping Ben land his first job at Dana. Ben and Aaron started more bonfires than they can count over the many summers Aaron taught sailing for PIBYC.
Robbie Lucas - Put-in-Bay Friend of the Groom. Ben and Robbie have been friends for almost 13 years, but grew much closer as they got older and their interests took similar paths. A singer and song writer, Robbie also has Island roots and grew up on Put-in-Bay.
Josh Scheub – Toledo Friend of the Groom. Ben and Josh worked together at Dana for almost five years. Josh shares Ben’s sense of wit and passion for music, and two have gone to many a concert together! Josh’s talents as a graphic designer complement Ben’s programming skills.
Brent Marriott – Toledo Sailing Friend of the Groom. Ben and Brent are friends from both work (at Dana) and sailing (on the Menace). The two of them served as coaches and mentors for many F.I.R.S.T. Robotics teams, including the 2000 National Championship team that took them through Michigan to Orlando, Florida. Brent shares Ben’s love of engineering, snow-boarding, sailing and music!
Alan Mettler – Put-in-Bay Friend of the Groom. Ben and Alan have been friends since childhood. Alan, who grew up on Put-in-Bay, worked with Ben at the Erie Isle Tavern were they were both chefs. Alan joined the Armed Services and is currently serving as a Seargent in the 82nd Airborne. Although Alan will not be joining us for the wedding, we will think of him often and pray for his safe return home from his tour of Iraq.
Thad Kahler – Put-in-Bay Friend of the Groom. Ben and Thad have been friends for more than 15 years and are neighbors on Put-in-Bay's East Point where they share the same shoreline. Thad is an accomplished craftsmen with extensive experience remodeling and repairing homes and apartments. Thad still finds time on the weekend to help out at Heineman's Winery where he has worked for many summers.
Daniel (Fish) Fisher – Put-in-Bay Friend of the Groom. Ben and Fish have been friends for years having met while Fish was a bartender at the Round House on Put-in-Bay. Fish now works as a salesman for a building supply company in the Cleveland area. Fish is engaged to be married to Christy's Maid of Honor, Jill Turner. The two will wed on the island in May of 2007. Fish, like Ben, is a Pittsburg Steelers fan - something they have come to value being surrounded by Browns fans in Cleveland.
Michael Diskin – Put-in-Bay Friend of the Groom. Ben and Mike have been friends for more than 14 years. Mike's family's home on the island is just down the road from Christy' on the Island's West Shore. Ben and Mike worked together at the Skyway and both attended college at The University of Toledo. Mike works for his family's company, Four Seasons Industries, where he helps his father with management and human resources.
