Ben and Chisty's Wedding

We cannot express how grateful we are to be surrounded with so many wonderful friends and family. We are truly blessed. We had an island wedding to remember, starting on Friday with a welcome party at the Crescent Tavern. Following the rehearsal dinner, everyone mingled and danced to the lively jazz and blues of Slow Burn. Saturday was full of preparations as the girls got ready and the wedding party gathered for pictures.

The ceremony commenced at Mother of Sorrows Church at 3:30 PM where there was standing room only. Following the newly weds outside, the wedding party led a parade of more than 30 antique cars through downtown and out to the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.

Cocktails on the patio over looking Lake Erie gave Ben and Christy a chance to visit with their guests. At dinner they introduced their wedding party, enjoyed great speeches from the Matron of Honor, Maid of Honor and Best Man. After dinner, everyone moved inside for singing and dancing to The Underwater People, one of our favorite bands - all the way from Chicago!

Honeymoon in New Zealand

In order to get the most out of a trip to New Zealand, we needed to have enough time to do so. So we took our honeymoon over the winter holidays with some vacation out of 2006 and 2007. Our total travel time was more than 30 hours and dropped us in Christchurch on the South Island. We took a train across the Southern Alps to the West Coast which we followed South, rounding out our jaunt with a ferry ride on Milford Sound. All the while we found ourselves in awe of the breathtaking views, temperate rainforests, waterfalls, sky blue rivers, misty mountains, and crystal clear lakes.

We then moved to the North island where the wonders continued as we visited the Polynesian Mineral Baths, the Rororuan Rainforest and the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Park. Traveling North, we stopped for a night in New Zealand's largest city of Auckland before heading on to the Northern coastal town of Paihia where we got to sail the Bay of Islands and scuba dive with colorful fish, feather stars and sting rays.

Our trip was just an amazing time. Definitely one we will never forget and will think of often. We've compiled all of our picture, panoramas, and videos here and just above are some of the highlights from our trip.
